Glastonbury Abbey revisited

To start with, here is something special. It's a painting that was recently bought by the Museum of Somerset. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to pop over to the museum one day soon to take a look. It is called, imaginatively, "The Ruins of Glastonbury Abbey" and was painted by George Arnald around 1810. As you may notice, he has employed a bit of licence when it comes to the position of the Abbot's Kitchen and the Tor, but it's still really interesting to see what it looked like before it was all cleaned up.



On Sunday I met up with Jackie and her friend Ann and, after a coffee, we had a bit of a mooch around the Abbey grounds. It was a gorgeous October day, about as good as they come in fact, and ideal for taking photos.
