The best bit about my day was finally getting home and taking my shoes off, but there was some stiff competition coming at me from unlikely directions. Having Buster greet me first thing this morning by rolling over on the kitchen table with a stupid look on his face and demanding that his tummy got tickled was a great way to start the day. A lunch of grated carrot, watercress and humus sandwiches eaten at my desk whist busy dibbling my way through my friends list was good. On the way to getting the aforementioned sandwiches, meeting a friend in town who I don’t get to see very often was also good. Sending my wonderful friend Julia in St Petersburg a message was also a highlight. Seeing the sun shining, albeit briefly, for the first time in a few days, a few days that spanned yet another week-end without too many photo opportunities was pretty special.
I think the removal of my shoes took the prize by a small margin. But wait, is the race over? A well-deserved early night is coming up on the horizon! Here it comes, here it comes. Here it comes. Dead heat! I think I'll sleep through the stewards' inquiry.
