More new friends

I feel very lucky. I seem to be gathering together some incredible people as LJ friends. Two more people have stepped through the door labelled " blur_kiwi's friends".

Firstly, there is digital_eye who lives fairly close to my neck of the woods. These are not words I use lightly, but she is an intriguing person. digital_eye is a seasoned traveller, has a couple of websites devoted to her adventures (http://www.icefairy.com/  and http://www.natalyatravel.co.uk ) and writes vividly and photographs divinely. She is planning a huge overland trip to south-east Asia in the summer of 2008.
Nat, I am really looking forward to getting to know you better and to sharing your adventures through LJ. I was unsure what kind of image to dedicate to you and settled on this after hours of agonising decision making. I hope you like it.

This is the Mount Aspiring National Park in New Zealand, as seen from part-way up Mount Roy, near my beloved Wanaka.

My next new friend is also from the UK.  jackiesjottings found me through a mutual friend gothic_girl_81.  Jackie also runs glastavalon, which is a community for all things Glastonbury. Like gothic_girl_81, she has a passion for the part of the world that I happen to live near and visits often. Glastonbury is a magical place, I don't think anyone needs to be told that, and it delights me that there are people from far and wide who appreciate that there is much more to the place than being a small market town in Somerset.

Jackie, it was much easier finding an image to dedicate to you. I know this is a spot you have stood on many times yourself, but I hope you like my interpretation of it. For the uninitiated, this is the town of Glastonbury as seen from the top of Glastonbury Tor, looking through the archway in St Michael's Tower.

(As always, please click on the images to see bigger versions)

So, I would like to welcome both of you to my LJ world. Between you, you manage to encompass two very important parts of my life (and two almost-opposite concepts for me) travel and being at home.
