The luck of the Irish

I feel very lucky right now. I have just won an honorarium at work. This is a prize for people who have been considered to have gone beyond what was required of them. There is no set number of prizes. The Corporate Director for the Directorate I work in has seen fit to award one to me. I feel really honoured and downright chuffed, stoked in fact.

It's not a huge prize, but it's still a nice thing to receive and I have decided to spend it wisely, and memorably by organising a short trip to Ireland. I've got some cheap flights out of Bristol to Cork on March 6 and will be staying until March 10. As I say, it's a short stay but I intend to cram in as much as I can. I'll be hiring a car and will then spend my time tootling around the south-west of Ireland seeing what there is and having a good old explore. I've never been to Ireland before and have really wanted to go for ages, so this has come at the perfect time.

I promise, there will be photos!

So, if anyone has any cool suggestions of places to visit and things to do in Counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford, I'd love to hear them.
