Wanaka tree

Selworthy

On Saturday I was out and about again. No surprise really, it was a lovely day. I went to lots of places but I'll start by posting photos of the village of Selworthy in West Somerset.

Selworthy is not far from the coast and sits on the side of a hill that overlooks the brooding mass of Exmoor. If ever there was a village that sums up the traditional 'chocolate box' image of England then it's definitely Selworthy. The village in these photos was built in the early part of the nineteenth century (although the settlement itself is much older) to provide homes for retired workers on the nearby Holnicote Estate. The village is now run by the National Trust.

Here's a taster.
