Friday night at the Glastonbury Extravaganza

First of all, I'd like to thank all of you who wished me well for my week or so off from work. I'm enjoying my time despite the weather. Actually, I can't really complain; Friday, Saturday and Sunday were great. My Dutch friends, Gerrit and Jos came over on a slight detour on their way home from their holiday in France. And on Friday evening we, along with my parents, went to Glastonbury to queue up for the first night of the Glastonbury Extravaganza in the grounds of the ruined Glastonbury Abbey. It's a great setting for the event. It is organised by the same team as do the world famous Glastonbury Festival and it's a way of saying 'Thank you' to the locals and giving us some top class entertainment.

We took a picnic and table and chairs, plenty of wine and found a great spot with a pretty good view.  It amused me to see the same kind of painted rubbish bins as they have at the Festival.

If any of my many Russian friends can tell me what it says on this bin, I would be very grateful.

Anyway, after our picnic, and just before the start of precedings, I went up to the very front and managed to get myself in the front row for the wonderful, beautiful and incredibly talented Corinne Bailey Rae.
