Glastonbury has a Banksy

I read about this in the local paper at the back end of last week, so I had to go and see for myself. For those who don't know, Banksy is a very well-known graffiti artist from Bristol. I say 'well-known', but actually nobody knows who he is. Of course, that also can't be strictly true, but I'm sure you know what I mean. He has taken simple graffiti into a totally new realm and I see his work as high art, and art with a message.

Now Glastonbury has a Banksy. It is in Chilkwell Street, not far from the Chalice Well Gardens and has probably increased the value of the house it's painted on by quite a lot.

For more of his work and more information, you might like to visit this website.

Belated Birthdays

I'm feeling like the worst LJ friend in the world right now.

Two of my very best, dearest and nicest LJ friends have recently had birthdays and I missed them.

I am so sorry.
You are both very special to me and now I know that you share a birthday, July 1.
But you share so much more besides. You both come originally from Vladivostock and you both now live in different countries, United States and New Zealand.

I hope you both had great birthdays with lots of presents and lots of great treats. I'm sorry I didn't wish you a happy birthday on the right day.
