Back from der Schweiz

Hello everybody out there in LJ land. This is just a quick note to say that I arrived back from Switzerland late yesterday evening.

I will try to catch up on 'friends entries' and things today, between essential bouts of work.

This evening I will sort through some of my favourite photographs from the past week and try to post a selection of them tomorrow. While I was away I did some creative writing, the first for quite a while, and I will be posting some of that in the coming days.

I had a really good time. It was just brilliant to be with Rebekka again, she is such a great friend and the most wonderful person. I love her dearly and feel really honoured that she is prepared to allow me into her busy life. As ever, she was the perfect host and, although it was a lazy week and just what I needed, we still managed to do quite a lot too. It is difficult to pick out highlights from a week where absolutely everything was great but, .........if pressed, I would say that our day trip to Konstanz, just over the border in Germany, was great because we met up with my friend Mariella who I had not seen for a long time, and our two day trip to Luzern, staying in a backpackers and doing some walking on the top of the Pilatus mountain were very special. It was great that Rebekka managed to get the whole week off work, and that Philippe managed Friday; it would not have been the same without him. One evening we went round see Sarah, Rebekka's sister, and had a meal in her new flat.

We crammed in lots of films and some wonderful meals. The Guinness in Switzerland is very good, but extremely expensive.

Just for

mark_off_ka, I can report that there will be pictures of Rebekka's rabbits.

by_tanchic I am very pleased to tell you that I wrote the story of the dream. Thank you very much for the inspiration and giving me the confidence to write it. I will post it soon.

Being home is no substitute for being with Rebekka, and I miss her already, but we'll speak on the phone regularly and keep in touch in lots of other ways, so it's not so bad. It's good to know that I have all of you out there to help me overcome that empty feeling you get at the end of a brilliant holiday.  Please let me know that I am welcome back![Unknown LJ tag]

Please vote for my friendcoolpawzon this site.

This is what she says about it. "To even be included in the festival would be fantastic, as my work could be exhibited in galleries in the UK! The photos aren't my best, as they had to be submitted in April, but its worth a try!"

She is a great photographer and there is a real spark and energy to her work that I admire very much. She also happens to be a wonderful, kind and fascinating person.

So please vote for Jan. She is more than worthy of everyone's support and her work would brighten up the exhibitions no end.

Thank you.
