We parked near the seafront. Although Criccieth is a small resort, this was very much out of season. There was hardly anyone around, the wind was blowing and there was a misty drizzle in the air. I got out for a short wander around. It seemed, out of season, to be a very nice little place. I walked a few of the hillside streets towards the castle I could see from the beach. I didn't go in, because I had been castled-out a little by my experience at Caernarfon. And anyway, this one looked like it was only photogenic from the outside.
I think this gives you a good idea of what the weather was like, with waves breaking over the little stone jetty. After getting back to the car we went to the teashop. It was closed until April. That summed things up pretty well, I think. I'd really like to go back there when the sun is shining and be able to see across Cardigan Bay to Harlech Castle, but that's for another time. Perhaps the tea shop will be open then too. |
