Bits and pieces

First of all, Happy Saint Patrick's Day to everyone. Even if you don't have a bit of Irish in you, however much you might want one, you can still be Irish today.

You may remember that I recently won second prize in a photographic competition. Well, I received my prize a couple of weeks ago, a Canon Powershot compact camera. I'm going away for a few days tomorrow so I'll be taking it with me and putting it through its paces. More of that later. The results of the competition have been officially announced today and the Somerset Arts website carries all the commended entries and the winners. I feel really chuffed because both pictures that I entered are in the top four. If you have a few minutes please take a look at the
Somerset Arts website.

Here are the next pictures from the Birthday Bear's OE collection. Obviously, he came with me when I visited Glastonbury Abbey and Forde Abbey recently. He enjoyed the sunshine as much as I did and blended beautifully with the crocuses.

As I said, I'm going to be away for a few days. I'm going up to the Welsh borders to see my aunt. I'll be stopping off at a few interesting places on the way and doing a few things while I'm there, though I'm not exactly sure what, so there will be photos. It will be good to get away, even if it is just for a long week-end. I hardly need to say that the Birthday Bear will be coming too. It will be his first new country since he arrived, I just hope that passport control is kind to him!
