The Met Office has issued the following warning of severe or extreme weather across the entire South West region for Friday 5 September:
"Risk of disruption warning"
Heavy Rain 0000 Fri 5 to 1800 Fri 5
Heavy rain will affect southern parts of the United Kingdom on Friday. Highest rainfall totals are likely to be across southwestern and western parts of England and South Wales, with accumulations in excess of 50 mm in places. The heavy rain will gradually turn showery from the southwest during the late morning and early afternoon."
Staff are advised to check weather forecasts before travelling, and to allow plenty of time for journeys.
For once I find it difficult to say that we could probably do with it. It's done hardly anything other than rain on and off for the past few months. Oh well, batten down the hatches and plod on! At least I've got only a short working day tomorrow.
